My name is Melinda and I have been passionately teaching ISR lessons since 2017 to kids in Southern Alberta! I first heard about ISR, Infant Swimming Resource since I was pregnant with my first child and KNEW that I wanted my babies to have these skills. I love the water and will ALWAYS be around it and knew that I wanted my kids to be safe.

I have been teaching ISR lessons for over 6 years now and have taught over 300 kids how to Self-Rescue, they not only are having fun in the water but learning lifesaving safety skills as well. 

I was already an LSI (Lifesaving Society) Swim Instructor for many years before I had any children and know how to teach not only ISR lessons but traditional swim lessons as well. My life has been in Aquatics for over 10 years. 

While I was on my maternity leave with my second child, I decided that "now is the time" to take the training and become an ISR instructor myself.  I knew that my children would always be safe around the water as we spend a lot of time around the water! I traveled with my family to Merida, Mexico to take my 7-week training course! It was intense, educational and rewarding, who knew doing this for a career would be even more challenging and rewarding than I ever imagined. I share all the wins in the pool with these kids!  

I  look forward to being your ISR Instructor.  I'm also a Lifeguard and Scuba Instructor. (People always ask me why I live in a landlocked province!)

Both of my children have been through the program and I have seen the results with them and with the other children I have taught. I have watched my kids USE these skills, even while just walking in the water and tripping on their own feet! 

I believe that this is an amazing program that will and has saved countless lives. I'm excited to bring ISR to Calgary and Airdrie and the surrounding area.
